EU support for the construction of water supply system in Bosilegrad

The European Union (EU) and the Government of the Republic of Serbia support the works on completing the construction of a water supply system in Bosilegrad that will ensure the population of the municipality have access to quality drinking water. The project worth 310,000 Euros includes the construction of more than seven kilometers of pipelines and the rehabilitation of the Roda water supply system, and have been funded equally by the EU through the EU PRO programme and the Government of Serbia.

“By building a water supply system, we will solve our long-standing problem with a stable water supply, and more than 4,500 people living in the Dobri dol settlement and the villages of Rajčilovci, Radičevci, and Mlekominci will have quality drinking water, while reducing losses in the water supply system,” said Vladimir Zaharijev, Mayor of Bosilegrad Municipality that participates in the financing of the project with 9,300 Euros.

Through good governance activities carried out in partnership with the Swiss PRO programme supported by the Government of Switzerland, an efficient system for billing and measurement of water source capacities and distribution will be established.

The contractor is a group made up of the Public Utilities and Services Company “Usluga” from Bosilegrad and Hidrokomerc d.o.o. from Lučani, selected through the procurement procedure conducted by the municipality of Bosilegrad, with a deadline of 280 days to complete the project.

The project Completion of Bosilegrad water supply system from "RODA" water source is funded by the European Union in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Serbia through the EU PRO Programme. Complementary project activities related to the implementation of the principles of good governance are carried out in cooperation with Swiss PRO Programme supported by the Government of Switzerland.
