Revitalisation of the Old Industrial Zone with the EU Support

The Kragujevac City Assembly has given approval to the city administration to start the public procurement procedure for the revitalisation and expansion of brownfield locations in the old industrial zone.

This zone includes the former Filip Kljajić Industry, the 21 October factory, as well as the former clothes manufacturer 22 December and other companies.

The estimated value of the works is about 93.8 million Dinars. Kragujevac participates with 17.8 million Dinars, while the EU support to this project, aimed at development and improvement of the business infrastructure allocated through the EU PRO Programme, amounts to 76 million Dinars.

The money will be used to finance the construction of infrastructure and roads to connect the old and new locations in the industrial zone, while the Ilina Voda settlement will be connected to a new water supply system. The approval was also given for the initiation of a public procurement procedure for the provision of expertise and the development of a design for the remediation works on the bridge over the Lepenica River at the Šest topola location linking the city with the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Serbia Company.

About five million Dinars will be invested in the bridge reconstruction project, of which the EU will provide 3,6 million Dinars through the EU PRO programme, while the Kragujevac City Administration will provide over 1.4 million Dinars.
